AutoLoan Check

Car loan deduction VIN lookup

Find the plant country reported by NHTSA. U.S. final assembly is required; a U.S. brand does not guarantee it.

Check where your vehicle was assembled

Find it on your dashboard, driver’s door label, or registration. No account required.

Your VIN is sent to NHTSA for this lookup. Income and calculator inputs stay in your browser.

What this VIN check can tell you

The decoder returns manufacturer-reported vehicle details, including model year, make, model, body class, gross vehicle weight rating when available, and plant location. Missing data or decode warnings need manual confirmation.

What a VIN cannot prove

A VIN cannot establish that you bought the vehicle new, that your purchase loan has a first lien, or that your income permits a deduction. Use the full eligibility checker to review those conditions.

If the assembly country is missing

Check the vehicle information label or contact the manufacturer. Do not treat a blank country, an invalid decode, or the VIN’s first digit as confirmation of eligibility.
